I had the privilege of photographing these two ‘lil love birds this weekend. It was so nice to be able to catch up with Brian, because we were both in Campus Crusade for Christ at Indiana University and I loved meeting his fiancee, Natalie. I told him that he outkicked his coverage (meaning she was out of his league). He said, “Isn’t that how it always is…or at least how it should be?” I laughed and only agreed with the second statement 🙂 It definitely is not always like that because there aren’t very many Natalies out there. She is seriously uh-mazing.
Brian and Natalie first met in 2010 at a christian sports camp, Kanakuk . Brian was a counselor and Natalie was a camper. One morning Brian’s table had the cereal that Natalie wanted for breakfast. Brian’s campers had a rule that whoever wanted cereal from their table had to stand up on a bench and yell “hooks”, like a pirate in front of the whole camp. Natalie did so several times, until it met the approval of his campers. Natalie took a picture with Brian at the end of the week for a memory of the embarrassing moments of getting cereal at camp. From there Brian and Natalie commuincated on Facebook twice to see how living in Indiana and college was going. Little did they know that God’s plan was for them to reconnect 3 years later and the rest is history.
When you see these two together, you know that they are meant to be. Before Natalie told me a few of her favorite things about Brian, I guessed that she would say the way he serves and respects her and his heart for the Lord, and I was right on. The way he looks at her is so flippin’ precious.
Brian loves Natalie’s heart for the Lord and for people. In his words, “She treats everyone equally.” In fact, she treated me like I wasn’t crazy when I had them sit in the middle of the road during our session, but I am… 🙂 These two love acting crazy together, which would explain why they were okay with dancing together in the middle of the park and stopping and trying to make a heart shadow for no reason other than me wondering if they could do it – ha.
I’m excited to be able to do Brian and Natalie’s wedding this year! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the amazing love story that God is continuing to write for you two.
